About me To paint differs completely from other activities I had - it's like walking into a soundproof room, no noise, no interference and suddenly become super concentrated and wonder why the clock ALREADY is 4.30. I have made several different kinds of art, including pure portraits, album covers as you see here at the right, but prefers to when you can create freely. Today I work mostly in oil on canvas but occasionally creates images in acrylics with airbrush techniques. I spray paint just the subject- much like when you paint a car. Both album covers next door, made to Virgin Records, is painted with that technology. I started painting in 1978 just because it's so funny. Pretty soon, surprisingly enough, I sold one of my first paintings. Since then I painted a long series of paintings. They presented on the website are some of the I like best. Some years later, 1985, I had my first exhibition in Göteborg, Sweden. It often takes unfortunately quite a long time to do a painting, sometimes up to a month or more. But I like to paint in this way even if there are so many produced. In the mid-80s, I met Charles Wild Bank, an artist in Los Angeles, who introduced me to the airbrush technique. Howard Brookes, an artist from Marstrand, gave me some tips and tricks in the late 80's. Anders Holmberg |
